The Military Justice Project is intended as a platform to showcase scholarship concerning military law. The focus of the content will be on ‘military justice’ based upon a large and liberal interpretation of that term of art. It is not constrained solely to the Code of Service Discipline. Consequently, this website will showcase scholarship on various aspects of the administration of the affairs of the Canadian Forces, including (but not limited to): the Crown-soldier relationship; grievances; administrative decision-making under the National Defence Act; the Code of Service Discipline and related disciplinary decision-making; administrative decision-making affecting veterans; and even the legal regimes affecting operations and the Law of Armed Conflict.
Additionally, this website will not feature solely the scholarship of the originator of the website, LCol (ret’d) Rory G. Fowler. Colleagues and other scholars are invited to share their research and commentary on these subjects.
This website is presented for educational and informative purposes only. While the originator of this website is presently in private practice in many of these fields, The Military Justice Project is not a practice-related site, nor is it intended to present legal advice. Viewers of this website are welcome to query the website administrator on the contents of the website, and may even suggest topics for further scholarship. However, the contact information provided for this website is not intended for requests for legal advice. Consequently, the website administrator will not respond with any legal advice.
